3 of the Best Crested Butte Coffee Shops
1. Camp 4 Coffee
Camp 4 Coffee is a true local gem in Crested Butte! This shop’s story began when Al, the founder of the company, joined his rock climbing partners around a fire in Yosemite, California. That night at campsite number four, Al and his friends decided to open a coffee cart called “Camp 4 Coffee.” It was a name the outdoorsy residents and visitors of Crested Butte could resonate with. Campsite number four is often the last opportunity for rock climbers to enjoy hot food and beverages before making a push for the summit. Camp 4 Coffee exists because of that same determined and nurturing spirit!
Camp 4 Coffee operates locations in both Crested Butte and Crested Butte South. If you can’t make it over to try one of their famous Americanos in person, Camp 4 Coffee beans are available for purchase on their website.
2. First Ascent Coffee Roasters
If you’re seeking organic ingredients and premium coffee during your visit to Crested Butte, First Ascent Coffee Roasters is the perfect place to try! Each day, the First Ascent crew crafts their own house-made, organic syrups and nut milks. All of the coffee is roasted in small batches, so quality is a big priority for this favorite caffeine stop! First Ascent Coffee Roasters can be found in the center of Downtown Crested Butte at 21 Elk Avenue. If you fall in love with their freshly brewed concoctions, you can buy bags of First Ascent coffee online or in person. Locally roasted coffee makes for a perfect souvenir to take back to loved ones!
3. Rumors Coffee and Tea House
414 Elk Avenue is a hotspot for coffee- and art-loving passersby; that’s because Rumors Coffee and Tea House operates their flagship location there! This favorite hangout is a full-service espresso bar that offers coffee, loose leaf teas, and other specialty beverages. Bookworms love this location because it’s adjacent to Townie Books, one of Crested Butte’s best indie bookstores. As an added bonus, visual artists and musicians often use the space for presenting their work! If you’re looking to relax and get your caffeine fix, there’s no better stop to make than Rumors.
