Vinotok Schedule of Events
During this festival, the numerous members of the community show their thankfulness for their blessings through songs, dancing, and storytelling. The excitement kicks off with the Celebration of the Harvest Mother. Other festivities occur throughout the week, such as theatre performances and traditional dances that depict the many Medieval-like characters of Vinotok (the Harvest Mother, the Earth Dragon, the maidens, the harvest lads, Sir Hapless, and the Green Man). Throughout the week, different characters engage in battle while the community watches eagerly. This fall harvest festival culminates with the burning of the Grump, during which everyone gathers for a ceremonial bonfire to sacrifice an effigy constructed by the town.
